DUI and DWI charges are among the most common of charges, and the team at Craig M. Kadish & Associates, LLC team has specific training in defending against these types of violations.
DUIs are extremely serious offenses. The first can carry up to a year of incarceration, while a second or subsequent charge can carry two or even three years.
New laws in the state of Maryland may require incarceration or treatment after subsequent DUIs; judges may be mandated to hand down these judgments, so it’s crucial to have an experienced DUI criminal defense team to help you retain your license and freedom.

DUI Criminal Defense: Mr. Kadish and Team Are the Premier Choice
For over three decades, Mr. Kadish and his team have defended all manner of clients against DUI and DWI charges, from college students to commercial drivers.
DUI and DWI charges are particularly serious for professional drivers. An individual with a commercial driver’s license (CDL) can easily lose their livelihood due to a DUI. Even if arrested in their private vehicle, they won’t be able to work the following day.
The first 10-days after your DUI are often the most important especially if you have a CDL. This is why it’s crucial to immediately hire a DUI criminal defense attorney following an arrest.
These charges are often complex, and penalties vary widely depending on the circumstances, the client’s record, and law enforcement’s evidence. In these cases, you need an experienced team who knows exactly how to handle DUIs.
Rehabilitation is a Crucial Component of Criminal Defense
Substance abuse issues are a common cause of DUI arrests, particularly when subsequent violations are involved.
At Craig M. Kadish & Associates, the team believes in treatment as a crucial component when defending against these types of charges. If a substance abuse issue is not addressed, the likelihood of a repeat offense is higher.
Mr. Kadish and team believe in rehabilitation and are focused on getting individuals who need assistance into appropriate treatment programs.

"I am still early into my case, but so far Mr. Kadish has been awesome! While I've had one actual court appearance for my case, I was extremely impressed with Mr. Kadish's demeanor and poise. He presented the information to the judge in such a well thought out way that the judge and even the prosecution attorney gave him praise!" — Chris
"My working relationship with Mr. Kadish was very good. I had gotten in a bit of trouble in Ocean City last summer. Mr. Kadish and his staff were very professional in all my dealings with them. Whenever I had a question about my case, I would call, or email them. It took only about 5 minutes for a reply every time. The outcome of my case was great. I highly recommend him." — Jon
"Craig represented my son recently in a DWI case. When we first met with Craig at his office I was very impressed with his knowledge of the inner workings of the law but I didn't think we could afford such a great attorney. However, Craig worked with us on his fees and I am very happy with the outcome of our case. Thank you, Craig!" — Mike Schneider

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I expunge a DUI conviction or a DUI Probation Before Judgment (PBJ)?
No. Under Maryland law, you can only expunge a DUI from your record if the entire case was dismissed, nol prossed, or resulted in a not guilty finding.
Should I agree to take a breathalyzer or blood test?
Call our firm immediately if you are in this situation; you have the right to consult an attorney and we’re available 24 hours a day. You do not have to take a chemical test; however, your refusal can have serious consequences including license suspension.
Will a DUI affect your Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)?
